A Secret Truth

Do you want to know a secret truth
I want to love each and every one of you
You want me to possess you and I want to listen
I want to give you aggressive kisses
That start passionate and slow
And build until it’s completely out of control
To be love drunk under the sinking sun
And read the sonnets in the stars until it comes back up
Tangled in sheets, sleeping until two
Blow off all obligations and do it all again with you
To be lazy lovers on the couch
Rest your head on my stomach pouch
Grow old and rotund together
Wear out our mattress in the center
Autumn walks, dogs, hand in hand
Kitchen talks, eggs, favorite frying pan
Silly spats, make up sex, best of friends
Together forever, the end of ends
Crochet the fabric, create the afghan
Weave the string to cover our life span
All the intricate stitches of love
You hemmed together with me
A colorful quilt - call it "us"
Do you want to know a secret truth
I want to love each and every one of you
But I can’t make my heart do what it refuses to
