Wielding a Sword of Words

The god damn reality dragon is back
Planning his next diagonal attack
On my fantasy, about to feast
Burning up the fun with the fire that he'll breathe
Leaving only steam and a broken dream
Sadly, every thing is exactly as it seems
I could not stop him with the swords of words I wield
Should I not have discarded my armor and shield?
Although I loved that I was freed from their weight
That freedom left me in a quite vulnerable state
Some might see me sinking in this sand of sin again
Feet buried in a fight they think that I cannot win
I am certain that I am not mistaken
In my conviction, I remain, unshaken
Even though I've been more than thrice defeated
Now on my knees beaten with eternal bleeding
Coughing up confessions to the burned
Professing that my lessons go unlearned
But best you bet I will go down in THESE FLAMES
Knowing that it is love that I obeyed
Even if the dragon remains unslain
